Food Talk is a publication of Setanta Publishing, LLC, which specializes in food safety information products. The company is based in Alexandria, Va., just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. We track regulatory developments in the various federal departments and agencies with food-related roles, as well as the actions of lawmakers in the U.S. Congress. We also report on state and local initiatives of interest to food safety professionals.

Our publisher, Declan Conroy (above), a native of Dublin, Ireland, has been a food reporter and editor in Washington D.C., since 1989. He launched Setanta Publishing, LLC in January 2004.
